"If you hang out with 4 broke people, you'll be the 5th one."

Where are you from? Chicago , Illinois

Where did you grow up? Moreno Valley, ca

How did you get into music ? I started rapping at 12 yo after finding my pops "1994 St Ides mixtape " feat Snoop and Dogg Pound, Scarface, MC eiht, wutang and ice cube

What were you known for before music?  I've doing it so long that music is all I was ever known for. Everyone in my city knew I was the kid that can rap.

Who have you worked with in the past?  Rick Ross, The Game, Nipsey Hussle, Kanye West, Jeremih, Ty Dolla sign, dr dre,  will i am, Raekwon, Anderson Pakk, e40, Justin Bieber and more..

Who inspires you creatively? My music is an open book of my life so I'm inspired by those in it. My friends and family is where I get all of my inspiration from.

What are you most passionate about professionally? I'm passionate about writing and performing. I truly enjoy creating the art and the experience of giving it to my fans?

What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? I enjoy telling MY story from MY perspective which is completely original. You can have 5 people grow up in one house and you will have 5 different takes on what it was like. Unfortunately, in rap music people like to paint the same perspective as other artist who were successful in hopes they can achieve the same success. The only way to truly impact the culture is telling your story from your unique perspective. When it comes to telling MY STORY. I'm the greatest ever!!!

Where can we find you when you’re not working? When I'm not working I'm spending time with my daughter and enjoying time with my family

How do you want to be remembered? I want to be remembered as one of the greats in music and a common X factor in the careers of artist and people I believed in. Loyal, generous, resilient, hard working, and talented as fuck is how I want people to describe Marcus Black.

Describe your career this far. A blockbuster movie lol.

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

Moreno Valley, CA

How would you describe growing up?

Lots of adversity. My dad wasn't in the picture. I was raised by my mom and grandparents. There was struggle with small victories in between but I always felt loved. I was the only white boy in my circle and I constantly had to prove myself.

How did you get into music ?

I used to run around my household at the age of 3/4 with a tape recorder with a mic attached, singing along to songs. I wrote and performed raps in school assemblies in elementary as early as 8. I would battle other emcees at the local skating rink around age of 10. I asked my mom to enroll me in the band in junior high and it evolved naturally. Recorded my first "song" at 11.

What path brought you here?

Being persistent and always having a willingness to learn.

What were you known for before music?

I was into sneakers and had a big collection growing up. I've always been known for music though.

How long have you been doing music?

Since a child. I wrote my first rap/poem at 8.

Who have you worked with in the past?

Marcus Black, Raekwon, Bink, The Game, DJ Kay Slay

Who do people compare your craft too?

Eminem/Drake are the comparisons I hear the most.

Who inspires you creatively?

J Dilla, Nas, too many others to name in hip hop... Quentin Tarantino, Tinker Hatfield.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

The creative process. Everything else feels like work to me but creating something comes natural.

What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? Getting better and overcoming plateaus. Helping people through the music with whatever is going on in their daily life. I aim to provide therapy.

What are you passionate about personally? Making sure everything I do has a message or a meaning. I don't like being shallow

What do you really enjoy? FOOD. It's the number one thing. Not just indulging all the time either. I take pride in eating healthy too..

What can’t you stop talking about? How USC should have lost against Notre Dame in 2005's football game. The Bush Push was illegal in the NCAA handbook and everyone knows it. Go Irish!

Where can we find you when you’re not working? Good luck with that... always working!

Have you won Any awards or other accolades?  Not yet.

What would be impossible for you to give up?

Being able to express myself creatively.

How do you want to be remembered?

As someone who cared about the culture and had integrity..

What are some goals your still trying to accomplish?

Learning how to play piano. My ultimate goal is to write a #1 record.

What is something your really proud of and why?

My grandmother got to hear me on the radio before she passed away. There is nothing that could ever take that moment away.

Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself?

Im appreciative of all support that comes my way and I hope I can reimburse every one of you through what I create!

What's your personal motto? Don't take things personal.

Describe your career this far: A roller coaster... The fun kind though with the occasional unexpected drop that scares you.

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

Born in Los Angeles, moved to the Inland Empire (Moreno Valley) very young.

How would you describe growing up?

I grew up in a big family. The youngest of 8 kids. We struggled but we always had each other. Mom and Dad stuck together and showed us how to love one another

How did you get into music ?

My big brother used to rap when I was really young. He used to write raps for me and I would memorize them and rap them for people. He wrote my first rap for me at 6 yrs old and I've been in love with music ever since.

What path brought you here?

It's been a long journey, but my love and passion for music and my faith in God has carried me thru all the ups and downs.

What were you known for before music?

Before music, I was heavy into sports. I played basketball my whole life and that's what most people knew me for.

Although I was interested in music from a very young age, I didn't start taking it seriously until I was about 16 or 17.

Who have you worked with in the past?

I haven't collaborated with too many people, I generally like working alone. Towards the end of 2016, The Game invited me to go on "The 1992 Block Wars Tour" with him and a few others and it was a great experience.

Who inspires you creatively ?

Most of my inspiration comes from my experiences or from the experiences of others, from my perspective.

I used to cut hair kind of as a side hustle and I enjoyed doing it, but music is and has always been my number one passion.

Creating something from scratch gives me the ultimate satisfaction. There's nothing like it.

I can be found at home, hanging out with the family.

I want to be remembered as someone who never settled for less and gave it everything he had.
